FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?

Hypnosis is essentially a state of relaxed focus. You've likely experienced this before—ever driven home and couldn't recall the journey? That's akin to the relaxation of hypnosis. Your subconscious takes the wheel while you remain aware and in control of your experience.

IS HYPNOSIS SAFE?

Hypnosis is widely used with very few risks.  Side-effects from hypnosis are reported very rarely, this could include feeling dizzy, or groggy.  Although, the vast majority of people emerge feeling refreshed, with renewed energy and a new perspective.

If you are being treated with psychotropic medications or have certain psychiatric diagnoses contacting your medical care provider before attempting hypnosis is required.

HOW IS HYPNOSIS DONE REMOTELY?

The process when conducting a session via Zoom or other video streaming service is exactly the same as an in-person session.  In fact many people find it more convenient and comfortable to have the session conducted while at home.  The key is ensuring you have access to a private quite space where you will not be disturbed by others and have a solid internet connection with your device plugged in and earphones to ensure a solid audio connection between you and the hypnotherapist.

CAN ANYONE BE HYPNOTIZED?

Absolutely anyone can undergo hypnosis. The crucial factor is your openness to the experience. Relaxation is key to entering this state, so being willing to calm your mind and feel safe is vital. Rest assured, in hypnosis, you're always in control—you won't say, feel, or do anything against your will. It's your journey; I'm just here to guide you.

WHAT DOES HYPNOSIS FEEL LIKE?

In many ways hypnosis feels like a deep relaxing meditation.  The first time I experienced the journey I was shocked at how relaxed I was able to become.  For me it felt like my limbs were very heavy and my heart beat had slowed to imperceptible levels.  For others they may feel very light as though they could float.
